Varigated Murphy Agave

Varigated Murphy Agave

Agave murpheyi Rodney

This variegated selection of Murphy agave was selected by the late Rodney Engard, a noted Arizona plantsman. The growth habit and size are identical to the regular species shown on the left. Although typically solitary it will occasionally produce offsets. Native to central Arizona and northern Mexico at elevations from
1500 to 3000 feet, this plant tolerates extreme heat and full sun with minimal supplemental irrigation. The mother plant will die after flowering requiring replacement. Hardy to 10° F, USDA Zone 7.
